Free Retirement Reimagined series helps Coloradans and caregivers plan for future
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – This month, Ent Credit Union and the Pikes Peak Area Council on Aging are partnering to host the 2025 Retirement Reimagined Series, a free, in-person and online educational program designed for anyone nearing retirement or supporting aging loved ones.
The need for resources like this has never been greater. The Wall Street Journal reports that in 2025, a record 11,400 Americans are turning 65 every day, totaling about 4.2 million people reaching retirement age this year. In Colorado, residents 65 and older now make up roughly 17% of the state’s population, underscoring the importance of accessible education and planning tools.
"Retirement today looks very different than it did even a generation ago,” says Bree Shellito, Ent’s Director of Financial Wellbeing. “With more Americans reaching – and delaying – retirement age, our community faces new financial, emotional and caregiving challenges. Retirement Reimagined is more than an educational series, it’s our way of standing alongside Coloradans as they plan, adapt and thrive through this pivotal life stage."
The six-week series will explore everything from Social Security basics and Medicare to estate planning, caregiving and finding purpose after work. Each Thursday evening session will feature experts who address not only the financial aspects of retirement but also the emotional and practical realities of this life transition.
