Ent and Wings credit unions share merger milestone and what’s ahead

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. and APPLE VALLEY, Minn. – Ent Credit Union and Wings Credit Union today announced that Wings members voted overwhelmingly in favor of adopting Ent’s charter, thereby approving the proposed merger-of-equals between the two organizations. With regulatory and member approvals now complete, the combined credit union will officially become effective Jan. 1, 2026.

More than 62,000 Wings members participated in the vote, representing 20 percent of membership, an engagement level that far exceeded industry norms.

Under federal credit union regulations, a member vote is required when a credit union changes its charter or merges into another charter. Because Wings is the credit union changing its charter in this merger, only Wings members voted. Ent’s charter remains unchanged.

“We’re grateful for the strong participation, support, and trust that made this milestone possible,” said Chad Graves, Ent president & CEO since 2017 and incoming president & CEO of the combined organization. “This merger represents strategic growth. It will bring expanded access, deliver enhanced systems and technology, and continue the proud tradition of both Ent and Wings in putting people ahead of profits.”

The merger, first announced in April 2025, brings together two of the nation’s leading credit unions, creating an organization with nearly $20 billion in assets, serving members across Colorado, Minnesota, and beyond. The combined credit union will operate under the Wings Credit Union name, honoring Wings’ aviation heritage and Ent’s Air Force roots.

Full systems integration is expected to take until 2028, and members will not experience immediate changes. No service centers will close as a result of the merger, and all team members will retain employment. The combined credit union will maintain headquarters in both Colorado Springs, Colo., and Apple Valley, Minn.

Members can also look forward to expanded access to service centers, an enhanced digital experience with Wings’ highly rated online and mobile banking platform, and improved technology for faster, easier everyday banking. Combined resources will also strengthen community impact and giving power while keeping local decision-making close to home.
