Credit Union's Socially Distant Grand Opening Supports Small Business During Pandemic
Ent to Give Away $6K to Help Downtown Fort Collins’ Businesses
Fort Collins, Colorado (July 20, 2020) – Ent Credit Union, Colorado’s largest credit union, began planning its entry into Fort Collins back in 2018. Two years later, Ent’s leadership certainly couldn’t have predicted the global pandemic that would disrupt nearly every aspect of Coloradans’ daily life. “Early on, we thought that the closures and precautions necessitated by the COVID crisis might affect construction and the timing of the opening of our new Fort Collins service center,” said Brian Rowedder, Director, Marketing Operations and Communications for Ent. “That turned out not to be the case, as our facilities team was able to stay on track for our summer opening. Instead, the question became ‘How do we safely invite the community to stop by and check out our beautiful new service center?’”
The answer was to turn the credit union’s typical one day service center opening celebration into a longer grand opening period (through July 31) for members and non-members alike to visit the new service center at their own pace. The new center is located in downtown Fort Collins at 243 N. College Avenue, across from the Exchange. Instead of focusing on logoed giveaway items, Ent reached out to the Fort Collins Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and purchased more than $6,000 in Downtown Fort Collins gift cards to give away both online and through its drive-up windows. In addition, Ent’s business development team reached out to local businesses, asking them for coupons that the credit union could distribute on their behalf.
As Colorado continues to reopen and constantly monitors the statewide effort to combat the coronavirus, many local businesses continue to struggle. “We knew we wanted to open our first Fort Collins location and celebrate with our new community,” said Rowedder. “At the same time, we knew that we could use the occasion to highlight and help the downtown Fort Collins’ business community while still respecting the social distancing norms that protect our employees, members and the public at large.”
Accordingly, the following grand opening activities will take place at Ent’s first Fort Collins location:
- Drive-Up Days - Beginning at 9 a.m., July 28 and at noon, July 30, the first 50 cars through Ent's drive up at the North College Service Center in Downtown Fort Collins will receive a free $20 Downtown Fort Collins gift card (limit one per car, while supplies last).
- Customers should follow Ent on Facebook and monitor their news feed for contests to win even more Downtown Fort Collins gift cards during the grand opening celebration. All ent members, existing and new as of July 31, 2020, will automatically be entered to win a MacBook Pro.
- New members receive $200 for opening a new checking account. Full promotion details at www.Ent.com/foco200
