Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) is a type of insurance you may be required to pay. This is usually required when your down payment is less than 20% of the total value of the loan. PMI protects a lender against losses if a loan default occurs.

How do I pay private mortgage insurance?

In most cases, we’ll add the PMI premium to your monthly mortgage payment. It will be kept in an escrow account until it’s paid.

How do I cancel private mortgage insurance?

Mortgage insurance is tied to the number of years you’ve had your loan and/or your loan to value ratio. You may be able to cancel it at some point, depending on your loan. Call us to discuss your specific loan details.
